Portage College…This is Your College…where learner success builds healthy, prosperous communities.

Our College will respond in a timely manner to the dynamic and changing needs of our learners, employers and communities. Over the next three years, Portage College will continue to maintain and enhance existing high demand programs and services. In addition, we will work toward satisfying seven broad categories of goals to achieve our vision of the future:  

1.      GROWTH AND ENROLMENT MANAGEMENT
Portage College will increase our student numbers as measured by Full Load Equivalents (FLE) to 1,127 over the next four years and focus our energies on attracting, retaining and graduating students.

2.      CHANGE OUR PROGRAM MIX
Portage College will endeavour to offer the right programs in the right places at the right times.

3.      INCREASE OUR COMMUNITY CAMPUS FOCUS
In order to achieve growth targets, Portage College will seek out opportunities for growth in communities that hold the greatest potential to support adult learning.

4.      EXPAND CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
Portage College recognizes that contract-based training is an area with growth potential, and will expand our activities in this marketplace.

5.      SUPPORT THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Portage College will continuously improve the teaching and learning environment for adult learners.

6.      MAINTAIN AND UPGRADE ALL FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Portage College will budget and seek funding for upgrading and maintaining all facilities and equipment to ensure a high quality learning experience.

7.      PROVIDE A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO LEARNING
The College endeavours to provide individualized student support as required to move students to independence and employment eligibility.
